This lecture will offer critical reflections on the European response in the shape of the new Regulation 1060/2009 on Rating Acgencies and arises questions whether and to what extent the various suggestions for improvement - among others - by sector committees under the Lamfalussy structure have been implemented, and to what extetn the Regualation actually offers added value.
